My fascination with the human body and its unique nature led me to train as a massage therapist in 2020. Since then, I have continued to develop through further training in the fields of craniosacral therapy and women's remedial massage.
Before moving from Styria to Vienna, I worked both in a physical institute and in my own practice in Graz. I am currently also studying music therapy. As a medical massage therapist, my aim is to offer people the opportunity to find relaxation and let go through the use of various massage techniques and intuitive bodywork.
I was born and grew up in Salzburg. I studied fashion design and have since worked at various theaters. I have always been attracted to the theater because of its power to touch the audience at its core. During my training as a medical massage therapist, I realized that this is possible even more effectively through direct skin contact.
I have previously worked in physical medicine, the spa sector and the high-end hotel industry. Alongside my job, I have completed further training to become a curative massage therapist. I enjoy continually developing myself as a therapist and as a person and discovering new things.
I have been working as a massage therapist and naturopath for over ten years. I am from the French part of Switzerland and before coming to Vienna eight years ago, I managed a practice in Geneva and later in Zurich. Since 2013 I have been practicing in Vienna in various spa and luxury hotels and have completed my training as a therapeutic massage therapist here.
At the end of 2019 I founded massagepraxis neubau. Alongside my work as a massage therapist, I completed a master's degree in art and theory at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
The success of classical massage, also called Swedish massage, comes from the diversity of its fields of application. From back pain to neck tension to regenerative relaxation, it can handle anything and everyone.
Deep massage as defined by Dr. Marnitz is a whole-body therapy that traces disorders of the spine to peripheral changes. Center and periphery influence each other reciprocally. By treating key zones, the deep massage achieves a lasting improvement in symptoms.
Fascial work improves the mobility between the different tissues. Through various pulling and pushing grips, the fascia become more supple, flexible and blood circulation increases. This results in pain relief and improved mobility.
Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle technique that channels accumulated fluid into the lymphatic system. This reduces edema and swelling. It can also be used as a pain-relieving technique for sprains and tendonitis.
Trigger points, when pressed, cause pain or, for example, a pulling sensation. The treatment identifies the affected muscle chain and releases the tension. The interesting thing is that the points are not necessarily located where the pain occurs. For example, treating points in the shoulder can relieve headaches.
Reflexology techniques include foot reflexology, acupuncture massage and segmental massage. Depending on the diagnosis, they treat weakened or overloaded organs. Stimulation of specific zones, segments or meridians promotes hormonal balance, reduces stress, relaxes the digestive system and supports the immune system.
This holistic treatment uses flowing movements to release blockages and stimulate the energy centers. The massage is perceived as very pleasant by those treated, especially because of the balancing movements, the meditative relaxation and the harmonized energetic state.
By stroking, kneading, rubbing, tapping and vibrating, the massage therapist reaches into the deep layers of tissue and stimulates the blood circulation.
This loosens tensions and hardened muscles. Skin, tendons and connective tissue are relaxed. Massages can also be of great benefit in the case of lumbago.
The body reacts to any kind of massage by releasing the hormone oxytocin. In addition, the brain releases endorphins, the body's own happiness hormones.
Blood pressure and pulse rate decrease, and relaxation has a positive effect on mental and physical condition. Massages can also alleviate sleep disorders.
The tension release of the tissues relieves the nerves, which leads to pain relief. In addition, massage causes the release of endorphins.
Through the mechanism of gate control, the stimulation of pain receptors leads to inhibition of the transmission of pain impulses to the brain.
Muscles and tissue are supplied with nutrients and metabolic by-products are removed more rapidly. This also supports the regeneration of the skin and the wound healing process.
Congestions of the cellular and lymphatic areas are released. Even adhesions, for example in scar tissue, can regenerate and new tissue can be formed.
